Casa do Soutinho – Suites § Nature

Casa do Soutinho is located in the village of Alvarenga in the heart of the Arouca Geopark, classified as a world heritage by UNESCO, and about an hour from the city of Porto.

The famous Paiva walkways are just a 10-minute drive from our house and from our garden the view over the suspended 516 Arouca Bridge is, enhanced, and is a 10-minute walk from the Portico de Alvarenga.

The house once belonged to the founder of the famous brand of coffee Sical, Vicente Peres, at that time it was the home of the caretakers of the farm, it was there that they kept the cattle and had a cellar with presses.

Later, this house, was given, by Vicente Peres to his goddaughter, who rebuilt it and turned it into her weekend home. In this reconstruction, the mills were demolished and their stones used in the construction of the outdoor swimming pool.

Currently, the house belongs to Restaurant entrepreneur of ​​the Novo Rumo group, who transformed it into a tourism house in a rural area with modern equipment, with all the necessary comfort for its guests. The main house on the ground floor consists of a kitchen where breakfast is served daily, a living room, a guest bathroom and a queen-sized studio. On the top floor we have six suites, all with private bathrooms.

We also have three “Deluxe Villas”, comprising a kitchen and living room (open space), bedroom and bathroom.

In perfect harmony with nature, Casa do Soutinho Suites & Nature combines comfort with modern design, always thinking of the well-being of its guests so they can enjoy a relaxing stay.

Paiva Walkways and 516 Arouca Bridge

We like to suggest our guests with a wide range of activities to do during your stay.

Right next to Casa do Soutinho, we have the famous Paiva Walkways, an 8 km long wooden path, complemented by the biggest suspended pedestrian bridge in the world. A walk along the left bank of the Paiva river with breathtaking landscape!
